A Second workshop on intensive care of the brain dead multi organ donor was held at the Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, Madras Medical Mission, and Chennai in collaboration with MOHAN Foundation on September 24, 2000. Speakers from leading hospitals in Chennai covered a wide range 0f topics ranging from identification, maintenance and support of the brain dead donor to preservation of organs, role of transplant co-ordinators and the working of UNOS. As always the panel discussion on case studies of real life situations threw up some interesting questions and some answers as well. CMC, Vellore and Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad are scheduled to be the venue of the next workshops.
