Ready, Set…Go!

MOHAN Foundation organized the VIII All India Transplant Games & First SAARC Transplant Games in 2003. Almost 40 patients from Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bangladesh and even Seychelles participated. The Nepal contingent was the largest and also walked off with the maximum medals. The Guest of Honour was Anju Bobby George, the first Indian athlete ever to win a medal in a World Championship in Athletics.

“… the Transplant Games torch was handed over by Mr. V. R. Lakshminarayan IPS patron of the VIII All India Transplant Games, to one of the youngest participants of the games, 9 year old Sanketh. The boy lit the cauldron to a burst of spontaneous applause from the audience who was touched and awed by the spirit of this young child.”
