An Illustrious judge in Nagpur pledges to donate his organs

Justice (Retd) Shrisen Dongaonkar from Nagpur is a man with a mission – he is knowledgeable about the subject of organ donation and he has conducted awareness campaigns to mobilise organ donation after brain death at Law College, Nagpur. He is keen to see the movement gain momentum in the community. To formalize his commitment to the deceased organ donation programme, his wife Sampada and he pledged to donate their organs at a solemn function held at MOHAN Foundation’s Nagpur centre in May 2014. They signed the organ donation pledge forms after which Donor cards were handed over to them by Dr. Ravi Wankhede, Director, MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur and a member of the Zonal Transplant Coordination Centre (ZTCC), Government of Maharashtra. Nagpur has so far registered over 3000 people who have consented to donate their organs.
