The 11th Organ Donation Masterclass took place on January 10 - 11, 2025, at the M S Ramaiah Advanced Learning Center in Bangalore. Jointly organized by the Liver Transplant Society of India (LTSI) and Medtronic, the course has been conducted annually for the past 11 years, training over 350 surgeons in organ recovery.
The two-day workshop focused on various aspects of deceased organ donation and covered topics such as:-
- The Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissue Act
- Diagnosis of brain death and maintenance of a deceased donor
- Coordination of a multi organ retrieval
- Principles of organ preservation
- Introduction to Donation after Circulatory Death (DCD)
- Machine perfusion
