“Thank you very much for sending me a copy of the Indian Transplant Newsletter. The publication of such a journal highlighting different transplant profiles in India and abroad is the need of the time. Multiorgan transplants in India are still in the stage of infancy. This subject is complicated because of so many socio-economic and medico legal factors involved in transplant and in your efforts in solving these problems through such journals is highly appreciated.”

“I am in receipt of the Indian transplant Newsletter and wish to congratulate you and your team for the excellent work done by releasing such a newsletter. I, as a student of medicine, always felt the lacuna of not having authentic Indian data on any subject studied during the entire course of Medicine and felt helpless when even the teachers would not be able to clarify on it. Your newsletter covers very important and interesting information related to organ transplant ; aptly supported by the news, snippets, facts & figures and ups and downs in the world of transplant column that make it all the more interesting to read. I was deeply touched by the “Legacy of Robert N. West-To remember me” published in the Feb 99 issue of your newsletter and “The interview… She gave her all” in the June 99 issue. I was happy to see the increasing figures in the field of cadaveric transplant all over the country. The work being done at Sion Hospital, Mumbai needs maximum kudos as it is a place where transplant programme has started all afresh under the enthusiastic guidance of Dr. Mrs. Vatsala Trivedi after it had almost come to a halt in the mid nineties. I will be pleased if you through your newsletter publish interviews with people at such centres where transplants have started recently and picked up so well as that would go to a long way in enthusing interest and guidance amongst aspirants like us wanting to begin transplants at their centres.

Do keep the good work going! Awaiting your next issue very eagerly.”
