The annual meeting of the American Society of Nephrology (ASN) was held in Washington D.C., from the 6th to the 10th of November, 2019. It is the biggest annual gathering of Nephrologists in the world with over 14,000 attendees arriving from all over the globe.

MOHAN USA exhibited at the event as a registered non-profit. The booth was manned by Dr. Nidyanandh Vadivel from Seattle, Dr. Anirban Bose from Rochester, Mr. Adinarayana Dasika from New Jersey and Dr. Hemal Kanvinde from MOHAN Foundation, Chennai, India. The booth displayed information about the Foundation's inception, growth and achievements over the last two decades.

The display generated substantial interest amongst a lot of attendees. While some knew about MOHAN Foundation's work, they were very impressed to learn the details of the Foundation's achievements. Others had no idea such an organization existed and were very moved to learn of all the work the Foundation has done to promote deceased donation in India. They were particularly appreciative of the educational campaigns carried out by MOHAN Foundation to sensitize a population as diverse as India's and the training afforded to transplant coordinators and grief counselors.

A substantial amount of interest was from delegates from other developing nations who could readily identify with the resource crunch faced by MOHAN Foundation in India and were very interested in learning more about the Foundation's playbook to maximize the utilization of available resources. Health-care professionals from countries such as Bangladesh, Pakistan, Egypt, Tunisia, Colombia, Nigeria, and Sudan were amongst others who stopped by the booth to learn more about MOHAN Foundation's activities and the reasons for its success over the years in promoting deceased organ donation.
