Dr. Sumana Navin felicitated on International Women's Day

At a glittering function held on 8th March 2017, at the TNCA Club, Chennai, Dr. Sumana Navin, Course Director, MOHAN Foundation, received the Women's Day Award, instituted by Inner Wheel Club Dist. 323. While receiving the award from Celebrity Artiste, Mrs. Sneha Prasanna, Dr. Sumana Navin thanked Inner Wheel Club for recognising her effort of working in organ donation, a 'road less travelled.' On the occasion of International Women's Day, she advocated that everyone in the audience should take the pledge to “Donate Organs and Save Lives.”

Dr. Sumana Navin started her work with MOHAN Foundation as a volunteer in 1998. At a time when organ donation was considered a taboo, she took the bold step of advocating for organ donation diligently.

She has conducted 46 Transplant Coordinators' Training Programmes, training 1530 transplant coordinators across India and Bangladesh.
