When Mr.Hemant Karkare, Chief of Maharashtra's Anti-Terrorist Squad, died in the terrorist attack in Mumbai on 26th November 2008, the nation mourned the brave heart. His wife Kavita Karkare was no less a brave heart.

Kavita Karkare's kidneys, liver and eyes were donated to needy patients. Dr. Sucheta Desai, Transplant coordinator, at P.D. Hinduja Hospital, Mumbai said that the decision to donate was taken jointly by all the three children of the Karkares and they were completely committed to it…”
