The 6th All India Transplant Games were held at the Lal Bahadur Stadium, Hyderabad on the 20th and 21st November, 1999. The games were held under the banner of the “All India Transplant Games Federation” of which Dr. R. V. S. Yadav is President. The games brought together transplant recipients from all over the country. By their sheer grit and determination they proved yet again that it is possible to have a healthy and fruitful life following a transplant. Dr. S. Sahariah, organising chairman and Dr. Sanjay Sinha, Organising Secretary said in their message that the theme for the 6th All India Transplant Games was popularising the concept of cadaver organ donation. The slogan for the games was, in fact, “Donate Organs – Save Lives”

Dr. R. V. S Yadav in his message said, “The great improvement from the 1st Transplant Sports meet at PGI, Chandigarh to the 6th one at Hyderabad can easily be seen in terms of the attendance of organ recipients, doctors, other professionals, public awareness and media coverage. We participated in the XI World Transplant Games at Sydney, Australia in 1997, which was our maiden effort. We also sent a small team to XII World Transplant Games held at Budapest, Hungary in September 1999”. He also emphasized the need to make society aware of the actual success of transplantation and the need for organ donation.
