At a function organized by MOHAN Foundation on 26 October 2012, at Hotel Taj Deccan, Hyderabad, His Holiness Sri Sri Sri Tridandi Srimannarayana Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji, launched the Telugu public education film on organ donation.  He has endorsed organ donation, and quoted from the scriptures by quoting the examples of King Shibi and Sage Dadeechi.  He blessed the families of organ donors and the work of MOHAN Foundation.

Dr. K.I. Varaprasad Reddy honouring the families of organ donors

Cricket Legend, Sri. V.V.S. Laxman graced the occasion and honoured the families of organ donors.  More than 15 families were honoured.  Sri Laxman was very touched by the generosity of donor families.  Speaking on the occasion, he said, he would love to do anything that needs to be done to make organ donation happen in India.

 Dr. Sunil Shroff, Managing Trustee of MOHAN Foundation, honoured the financial supporters of MOHAN Foundation.

The other dignitaries present were Dr. K. Ravindranath, Chairman of Global Hospitals and Dr. K.I. Varaprasad Reddy, Chairman, Shantha Biotech Limited.  Dr. Varaprasad Reddy felt it is a good idea to say that lives of their loved ones will be extended if they donate their organs.

The event was an emotionally charged one, and everyone that witnessed the film and felicitation of organ donor families, went back with a thought that they should ensure that their lives are passed on.
