PSG hospitals and MOHAN Foundation celebrated Organ Donation day on 27^th November 2011 in Coimbatore. The celebrations were marked by a rally to spread the message of Organ Donation and Transplantation. The Chief Guest of the event was Mr. Amresh Pujari, IPS, Commissioner, Coimbatore city, and the event was presided over by Mr. Gopal Krishnan, Trustee, PSG Hospitals. Dr. Bhuvaneswaran, MD, PSG Hospitals presented Mr. Pujari with a memento. Mr. Pujari then pledged for a Donor Card and set an example to all the participants who were gathered there. There were around 700 participants who gathered for the rally.Students from the PSG group of colleges participated with enthusiasm to spread the message of organ donation and transplantation. The Chief Guest flagged off the rally and spoke of the importance of donating organs so that people suffering from end stage organ failure could get a new lease of life. The rally started from PSG Hospital and ended at the Coimbatore Expo about 3 km from the hospital. Organ Donation awareness banners and placards were carried by the students to help spread the message.
