Kelly Perkine, 40, has faced really steep health problems, but six year after receiving a life-saving heart transplant. She decided to tackle something steeper, literally. The 19,340 foot high Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain peak in Africa was her target because the first heart transplant was performed in South Africa in 1967 by Dr. Christian Barnard. And she did, all the way to 19000 feet making her the first heart transplant recipient to scale the mountain. She truly did the memory of Dr Barnard proud.
