In USA national Organ donors day is celebrated in the month of February, similar days are celebrated in other countries too. It is time that the WHO declares a “world Organ Day” or even a week. The Prime Minister in India has recently declared a Heart Transplant Day. There is also eye donation week in Septemeber. But what is needed in India is to have an organ donor week, this will not only created awareness about organ donation but would also help in focusing the government’s attention in tackling the live donor issues related to kidney and now liver donors.
