STOP PRESS: Andhra Pradesh achieves a Milestone in Deceased Organ Donation

MOHAN Foundation helped the deceased organ donation programme in Andhra Pradesh achieve a milestone in the first week of November 2010.  Venkatesam, a businessman, who was declared brain dead became the 100th organ donor in the state facilitated by MOHAN Foundation since 2002. The grief counsellors of MOHAN Foundation motivated his relatives to donate the organs and give a fresh lease of life to others. Shortly thereafter, the family of a young engineering student, Ratnakar, donated his organs after he became brain dead following an accident. Mr. K. Raghuram, CEO of MOHAN Foundation, said that so far a total of 101 organ donations have been completed in Andhra Pradesh by the foundation.
