The legacy lives on… Mr. Rajaraman

“He always Lived for others- and so too in death” was the message from Mrs. Kalyani. In her darkest hour of grief, it was that simple but strong premise that gave her the strength to donate the organs of her loving husband, Mr. Rajaraman, when he was declared brain dead. Mr. Rajaraman was a simple, mild-mannered and soft-spoken person with a kind heart. He used to donate blood frequently. With their son aged about 10years and with a lot of goodwill among his circle of friends, they lived happily. Tragedy struck the family, when Mr. Rajaraman met with a road traffic accident on 21st January. He was declared brain dead on 27th February, 2005. Mrs. Kalyani agreed to donate her dear husband’s organs to light up the lives of organ failure patients (the heart valves, liver and eyes were retrieved). She wanted her husband’s valves to continue in the legacy of life that her left behind. As a community we are grateful for her act of benevolence.
