Larry Kramer, 66, a renowned playwright and novelist in the US needed a liver transplant because of end stage liver failure caused by hepatitis B. there was one major catch, though. After a 7-month wait on the transplant waiting list he received a liver transplant at the university of Pittsburgh medical center in December 2001.
