The cadaver organ donation and transplant movement in Hyderabad will now have a new entrant in the field with MOHAN starting its office there. Mrs. Lalitha Raghuram, who has played a key role in the Eye Bank of India and was previously their executive Director, will head the organization in Hyderabad. Various activities under the MOHAN umbrella are likely to start including forming an INOS (Initiative for Organ Sharing)   Group, a Patient Support Group and Public Education Forum on the same lines as MOHAN in Tamil Nadu.

The policy of MOHAN to take a multi – pronged approach to make the story of cadaver transplants a success in India has been evolved over the past few years in Tamil Nadu. Time will only determine if this is the right approach however so far the work done has been gratifying both for members of MOHAN and for some of the patients who have benefitted.
